How detailed is God’s timing?

Happy Wednesday:) and what a busy day so far!
You know how we hear a lot of talk about God’s timing? It seems that everyone we know, including ourselves, is waiting for something. No matter how big or small an issue, it is important to us. It’s often hard to remember that God is involved in our daily lives when we are waiting and aren’t seeing any changes or solutions, right?
Well, today I was studying in the book of Joshua for my Bible study lesson, and it got my attention.
If you read in the first chapter of Joshua, you will find that it’s after the death of Moses, the Lord’s disciple, God, spoke to Moses’ assistant, whose name was Joshua, and said to him,
2 “Now that my disciple is dead, {your are the new leader of Israel} Lead my people across the Jordan River into the Promised Land.
5 No one will be able to oppose you as long as you live, for I will be with you just as I was with Moses; I will not abandon you or fail to help you. 6 “Be strong and brave, for you will be a successful leader of my people; and they shall conquer all the land I promised to their ancestors. 7 You need only to be strong and courageous and to obey to the letter every law Moses gave you, for if you are careful to obey every one of them, you will be successful in everything you do.
Skip to v 9 Yes, be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
10, 11 Then Joshua issued instructions to the leader of Israel to tell the people to get ready to cross the Jordan River. “In three days we will go across and conquer and live in the land which God has given us!” he told them.
First of all, we do not have to follow the law to the letter because we aren’t under the law now but under Grace. God was giving him direct instructions on how to be successful in everything that he did, (umm sort of like we have His instructions today).
God told him that he must be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt, hello? Any bell ringers here?? God also told him that the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Everywhere you go is pretty much everywhere you go right?
The part that got my attention is vs. 10, 11. As most know, the long awaited Promised Land was a BIG DEAL! Not only was it a BIG DEAL BUT it had taken 40 YEARS to get to this point. I mean we had a whole generation to die out due to disobedience and lack of trust. SO here it was the BIG DAY when God finally spoke out the “real deal” instructions and
Joshua got it underway.
I thought about how we are all in a holding pattern, but most of us haven’t been in a 40 year waiting period to finally accomplish the thing that is so BIG to us at this moment.
Take comfort in knowing that God knows His timing, and He will give the orders out according to His plan and purpose. In the meantime seek His Word daily for encouragement and joy. I assure you that you will find it there:) Look at it this way, Why was “that day” the day that God chose to speak the instructions to bring about such a long awaited event? What would another day of waiting matter in the big picture anyway?
Just God’s timing I suppose:))

Hope this encourages you to remember that we are all waiting and God knows His timing and will speak the instructions at just the right time:)
