A cage isn’t a delightful place after all… is it?

The door is ALWAYS open for us to DELIGHT ourselves IN HIM…First, we must commit!

Do you ever feel as if your being held back from what you would really like to be doing in life? Sometimes, it’s hard to find the way out of our current situation. Whether it be health challenges, or every day life…it can be difficult.
As many of you know, I recently closed my business due to neck and back issues. In the beginning, my attitude was one of acceptance, and then it turned to one of questioning why? I soon adjusted my thoughts to accept that God’s plan for me was no longer in that direction.
PSALMS 37:4-5
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

David tells us to take delight in the Lord and to commit everything we have and do to Him. But how do we do this? To commit ourselves to the Lord means entrusting everything- our lives, families, jobs, possessions- to His control and guidance. To commit ourselves to the Lord means to trust Him(37:5), believing that he can take care of us better than we can ourselves. We should be willing to wait (37:7) for Him to work out what is best for us.
To delight in someone means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence. This happens only when we know that person well. So, to delight in the Lord, we must know Him better. Knowledge of His great LOVE for us will indeed give us delight.

FRUITFUL OBSERVATION: Sometimes we hold ourselves back and stay in our “cage” when in fact the Lord has the door wide open for us to come out and delight ourselves in Him.
Real joy comes from being in His presence!
Let’s take delight in the Lord and entrust Him with everything we have and do today and every day!

SOMETHING MORE HARMFUL THAN A PINECONE!

Our WORDS, like  a pine cone can do GREAT HARM to OTHERS... LET’S LEARN HOW TO DROP THEM QUICKLY before they can do damage!

Hello Readers and HAPPY Monday! 🙂
I have been successful for seven days on Weight Watchers. It can be difficult keeping track of everything that goes into our mouths. Better yet, the REAL challenge for us as Christians, may be what escapes out of our mouth due to what we are holding in our heart.
JAMES 3:2-6
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses ‘mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. (wherever the pilot desires)
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
What you say and what you don’t say are both important. Proper speech is not only saying the right words at the right time but controlling your desire to say what you shouldn’t.
James compares the damage the tongue can do to a raging fire-the tongue’s wickedness has its source in hell itself. The uncontrolled tongue can do terrible harm. satan uses the tongue to divide people and pit them against one another. Idle words are damaging because they spread destruction quickly, and no one can stop the results once they are spoken.
A few words spoken in anger can destroy a relationship that took years to build. Before we speak, remember that words are like fire-you can neither control nor reverse the damage they can do.
We can still learn enough control to reduce the damage “it” (gossiping, putting others down, bragging, manipulating, false teaching, exaggerating, complaining, flattering, and lying) can do. It is better to fight a fire than to go around setting new ones!

FRUITFUL OBSERVATION: Before we speak, ask, “Is what I want to say true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Keeping track of everything that comes out of mouth is far more challenging to me than my Weight Watchers after all, and MORE important to the Father.

Let’s remember to ask ourselves the three questions listed above- today and every day! 🙂

Bubble Wrap CAN NOT cover sin!

Version 2

There are many uses for using Bubble Wrap AND COVERING UP SIN ISN’T ONE OF THE USES!

My sweet niece told me today is National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, SO guess what today’s topic is about? Yep, you guessed it:)

Bubble Wrap is a pliable transparent plastic material used for packaging fragile items.

In the BIG scheme of things, us humans are somewhat fragile and we do have an area that we try to cover up on a daily basis…Sin. Let us take a look at what the Bible has to say…

Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

It is hard to learn from a mistake you don’t acknowledge making. And To what good is a mistake if it doesn’t teach you something? To learn from an error, you need to admit it, analyze it, and make adjustments so that it doesn’t happen again. Everybody makes mistakes, but only fools repeat them.
Something in each of us strongly resists admitting we are wrong. That is why we admire people who openly and graciously admit their mistakes. These people have a strong self-image. They do not always have to be right to feel good about themselves. Be willing to reconsider-to admit you are wrong and to change your plans when necessary.

We see in Genesis 3:7,8, After sinning, Adam and Eve felt guilt and embarrassment over their nakedness. Their guilty feelings made them run from God and try to hide. A guilty conscience is a warning signal God placed inside you that goes off when you’ve done wrong. The worst thing you could do is eliminate the guilty feelings without eliminating the cause. That is like using a pain killer but not addressing the disease. Be glad those guilty feelings are there. They make you aware of your sin so you can ask God’s forgiveness and then you can correct your wrongdoing.

The thought of two humans covered with fig leaves trying to hide from the all-seeing, all -knowing God is humorous. How could they be so silly as to think they could actually hide? Yet we do the same thing when we try to hide things from God. Share all you do and think and don’t try to hide.
It can’t be done!
